Maybe you can have a shot of Morphine or Epinephrine to heal for a short time. Like say you got a shot to the arm and you cant aim a gun you can give your self a shot and aim better but it will only last for so long.

Even if it wouldnt be realistic, picking up and recieving instant regeneration from health packs is necessary for the game to progress smoothly. Who really wants to run for two minutes, get shot, and then have to sit in a closet for a week tending their wounds? If they were to be totally realistic, within a few levels of playing you'd most likely have died of blood loss or infection.

Epi is a stimulant that increases your heart rate and stroke volume. That is a bad thing to take when you are bleeding or having trouble aiming.

(I had to google the exact effects but I knew it was a stimulant. When half the women in your family work in health care, you tend to pick up little tidbits like this.)

Backpack ? Why should this soldiers carry backpacks in planned warfare, in zones that is all marked up like battlefields. When i was going in army, we hidden our packbacks for the moment of a battle. So why should this game have soldiers carring on backpacks.

To have their stormkitchen with them for cooking while make battle ?

To have their warming coat with them if they start to freeze, of all camping ?

To have clean underwears with them if a grenade blows to close to them ?

To have their Hustler magazine with them to plessure them selfs with ?

To have their spades with them to dig holes in Russia by winter ? Good luck.

To have their raining coat with them to struggle down a enemy outpost in silence.

Or maybe have their gameboy with them if it starts to be boring on this boring missions ?

I say no to backpacks in wargames of this size. This is a battlefield, no countryside journey.

If the SAS can hump around kit weighing 250lbs in battle youd be able to run around with 90lbs. NBC kit, spare ammo to load your empty mags with, spare ammo for support gunners, that lovely LAW 66mm for anti armour use, 40mm grenades, various other explosives for area defence such as claymores and PE for objectives, the patrols medics kit, your personal medical equipment, the patrols radio and its spare batteries. You bin your kit if you have to make a fast get away bot because your going into a fight when your going to need it. The British Commonwealth militaries have an SOP that states never hide equimpment in a hostile environmnent because if the enemy finds it your fucked when you go back to get it.

You talking about recon SAS, that is behind enemy lines. I'am talking about fighting elites on the frontline of battle and tactical use of brain in battlefield. SAS is away weeks behind enemy lines and without supporting lines. They need to have all this stuff with them, cus they mostly need it for their survive. But if you are a moving unit in a battle and placed like a supporting elite. You hide you stuff to make you move faster to your locations to support. Ofcurse you still having your radio with you and ammo. But never in your backpacks. You just carry it in your hands. You know how much it hurts to hit the dirt with a fully loaded backpacker ? Then how slow you getting up with that stuff on you, how low your fighting morale gets and how totally unflexible in battle you being with that stuff on you. Think then see one-two of your buddies get hit instantly by enemy bullets, now you must give them help. Start to crawl with this heavy backpacker on you back, to your wounded buddy. Now the ennemies have closen up to you and a grenade blows off just next to you. You morale will now go down to downunder 25% and you start to wish. That your backpacker was changed to a tombstone and that you was 5 meter bellow the earth and already dead. Cus you don't want to see your unit been totally wiped out of this lightfooted soldiers of the real battlezone.

My unit killed a whole airstrip patrol with backpackers on them. They all was so damn sold out for our machinegunner. He almost walked behind them with that machinegun, while they was running like in mud with those heavy backpackers. He just killed every 12 men of them, with one machinegun. Backpackers is nothing for battle making elites, only for suprised looking SAS corpses that never reached their recon area. Therefor they learn to jump into water and jump parachutes. Cus they don't want to sneak all the way betwin enemy positions. SAS mostly take water way or the air way in to their locations.

SAS is not like the Green Beret's or the Speznas. SAS is spies in uniforms.

The SOP is for all UK forces (unless there with a vehicle) not just the SAS. Im not saying they dont take it off when in a contact but they alway have it with them and never hide it because of past experiance in Northan Ireland where the IRA used to set bombs in hidden equipment.

But that is still just behind the friendly lines. They couln't hide it just becurse the activity in that free enemy area, the size of their total unit in North Ireland and mostly becurse it was a urban warfare. But if you are in real war, operating like behind one of the flanks and hidden in woods (guerilla). In this way you are really surrounded of your own brigade and other smaller platoons. Like tank units, anti-air units, sniper units, etc, etc... You just get a call from your HQ and they tell you what location your support are needed. Backpacks is just for marching with, if front line is making longer moves or your unit just have to take the other flank. And ofcurse if you will carry your backpacker in one urban warfare, in smaller scale. But not in warfare in wood terrain.
