just wondering what other types of weapons may ve availabe. hopefully grenades, because a fps without it.... kinda scary thought. also wondering about things like claymores, or maybe rpgs, etc. finally, what about gadgets, like binoculars, armor, radio, and other equipment?

Grenades, mines, rpgs, and grenade launchers will all be represented to some extent (clearly not as much as small arms though).

The general equipment that you mention will also be available.

I believe they said there will be stationary machine guns. Not sure about mortars though.

from my experience with mortars, not used very much, and somewhat tricky. but fun if implemented correctly. joint operations typhoon rising is a good example. personally, i think this game can take a lot from that game, because in my opinion it was the most realistic first person shooter since the old ghost recon and rainbow six

Cepheglia: This is a French Cho-Cho
Rosen: Chauchat
Cepheglia: It's a piece of garbage, don't worry about it
Rosen: Leave it to Henchman and Hollingshead.
Cepheglia: Don't worry about mortars, tanks and artillery.
Rosen: We don't have any of that either.
Cepheglia: Basically we're mud crunchers,
Rosen: gravel agitators,
Cepheglia: infantry.

The Alliance team should keep that quote handy for BF2 fanatics.

It may sound crazy but I would like to use a Chauchat in Alliance.

I'd also like to see rifle gernades. (looks like a rocket fired from the end of the barrel) The were heavily used during WW1. I also wouldnt mind seeing chemical weapons in the game (maybe not player deployable though ) because again these were in heavy use during some of the time periods Alliance covers.

The Chauchat might not be all that awfull in the game since Alliance wont cover jamming. maybe it'll just drain your life slowly by touching it. lol

Now what we need is that curved RPK.

No chemical weapons or Punji sticks. Rifle grenades might make an appearance though.

Yeah, since we're not implementing jamming we can't include the Chauchat as that's what it's best known for.

How about trapping doors like a sniper ? Claymores activates on using doorhandle. Climbing gear to sniper, to climb up to roofs or trees. Only a choose to a snipers, instead of some bodyarmor. How ever the bodyarmor is useless to a sniper in close range combat. But trapping and climbing is a good sniper protect.

Yeah, I was watching a show about special forces in Iraq, and when they set up a recon position on a roof top, they set up a claymore in the stairs, in the event that the enemy tried to come up.

I think thats an ok idea.

Claymores will exist in Alliance, so you'd most definitely be able to setup traps. Climbing gear will not exist though.

Unlike Vegas, you will configure you're weapons prior to the mission.
