I watched the preview Videos for this game and I've gotta say it looks pretty good. However, there were a few things I noticed.

For Starters, in the game play video an FN FAL is being used. I noticed that Every time the rifle is Reloaded, it's cocked. When a magazine is Changed, if it's not empty, the rifle does NOT need to be cocked. There is already a round in the chamber so a new Magazine can be incerted and you're ready to go. It should also be noted that the FAL has a bolt hold open feature.

Also, the Human shield thing is a little far fetched. With all the balistics information and fragmenting bullets it seems kinda rediculous to use a human body as a shield if you're being shot at with anything more than .22LR. Any rifle caliber will go in one side of a body and out the other like a hot knife through butter. Pistol calibers could be stopped if the body had a Kevlar vest on.

Otherwise keep up the good work. If you have any Weapons operation or ballistics questions feel free to send me a PM/eMail.

Cheers,
Mike

That video was pre-alpha stuff. Just what they were gonna show off at E3, meaning that they are likely to fix all these problems and more by the time the game comes out. That way, all the people who are totally nitpicky about these things (Like you) can be content with all the little itty- bitty things no one cares about. As for the whole picking-up-corpses-and-using-them-as-cover thing, that's just in there to add more fun (albiet less realism). Of course there'll be limitations as to what guns you can use while doing it.

You sound a little hostile there. As far as I know, this game is being promoted as being a game for "Gun Nuts".... Something where the "little details that no one cares about" count. Why would you put 200+ Guns into a game with realistic models and then fuck up a "Small" Detail like that? If i noticed chances are others will notice. I heard about this game on a Shooting Sports Message board so if that's any kind of an indication of the type of clientell this game is catering to I think your snarky comments are a little out of place.

"picking-up-corpses-and-using-them-as-cover" for fun? Sure, why not? But as a shooter little details like recocking after EVERY mag change pisses me off. Call Of Duty got their firearm operation right, why not these guys?

I was simply offering a little input and my availability to make this game a little better. There's no need to be a jerk.

It's pre-pre-pre-pre alpha. Stuff like cocking after every reload will not be in there. Really can't judge until some new stuff comes out.

That was for a trade show and demos like that can be held together with bailing twine and chickenwire.

Please stick around and critique more up to date footage when it's available though :)

From what I understand, that was indeed extremely early footage. It won't reflect the end product.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about the videos by many people. Perhaps a little note should be left on the Movies page that the ingame footage is all pre-pre alpha?
