Are you considering other conflicts where USA did not have a direct influence?

I'm particulary thrilled to see if I'll get a decent simulation of the falklands conflict, wich I believe has both relevance and playability, two sides one more advanced than the other, air support, navy support etc...

The plot of the game has no correlation with what conflict the United States was involved in.

You don't think the US had a say in the 1916 Russian Revolution do you?

I said "other" conflicts because I browsed part of the forum and I did not find a through reference to all conflicts included (wich is understandable) and I am aware (hence the "other") that US did not intervene in the 1916 conflict...that said, my main question, remains unanswered...

Cheers!

in fact there doest appear to be any conflict in this game that we know of, where the US was directly involved.

Not quite. There are a few scenarios in the story where the US is directly involved (such as during WWII, although you won't really be seeing the conflicts that you're used to in WWII games).

However the story doesn't really follow any particular Government(s). You'll bounce around a lot while pretending to be embedded with one particular force or another at many points in time.

Sorry for having to keep it vague... ;)

Here's an Operation Flashpoint mod you may or may not have seen.

About US involvement on the Falkland/Malvinas war of 1982...

USA provided the UK with photos of the Argentine positions and movements that were taken with their satelites.

USA provided the UK Harriers with the new AIM-9L AA missile.

and I think the US put pressure on some countries so they wouldnt sell spare parts or other military equipment to Argentina.

Argentina got a lil bit of help from Venezuela... Venezuela sent a C-130 (just 1) filled with spare parts for Mirage and Camberra planes, ammo and some other supplies... there was a rumour that the Venezuelans sent a Exocet missile too but theres no prove of that and is most likely false. Peru gave Argentina 10 Mirage planes, but that was too late because the fighting was alrady over when that happened I think.

Malvinas/Falklands

This day 25 years ago Argentine special forces and marines invaded and captured the Malvinas/Falkland islands thus starting the war in the South Atlantic between Argentina and England

British marines surrender to the Argentine Buzos tacticos (special forces)
